The first is always the hardest, good work. Now I’m assuming these videos will be seo optimized and tagged at YouTube?
Why video blogging ?
Michael–
Great that you’re starting to video blog, but I have one recommendation (after viewing both video entries so far):
Please slow down. You seem to be speed-talking and by slowing down just a little bit (or a lot), it will make it more clear and understandable. Thanks!
Can’t agree with Jonathon more. You’re delivery is like a machine gun and if your viewer comes from a slower-paced part of the planet they’re going to miss your message because they can’t keep up with you.
I agree, slow it down just a bit. I’m the same way on camera. I get nervous and talk faster than the micro machines guy. I have to force myself to slow down.
The speedy delivery works for me because it reflects your personality and brand. Plus, I can get all the information in half the time.
not sure what made you think you were attractive enough to start doing video.
Personally, I like the fast delivery – packs lots of info in. But I get people telling me to slow down too. Isn’t that what pause buttons are for?
Gosh… I had a box of honey roasted & chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts all packed up and ready to send, but I couldn’t find an address. Oh well.
I like the speed. If people need time to digest something, there’s always the pause button (Just my 2 cents). Looking forward to the videos.
Speedsnotanissue…
Just please adjust the lighting.
If you decide to continue doing this long term then it might be worth reading some stuff from http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/03/lighting-101.html
(side note – talking ’bout niche… a site about nothing but lighting)
Even in the short term, take a lamp (no shade), put in a 100w natural light bulb (those with the blue coating) and drop a white sheet in front of it (between the light and you) play with the distances some. Keep it about level with your head and get rid of those dark spots where your eyes are supposed to be… unless you are going for that type of look.
