So last week I put out a call for mashup beta testers and got some overwhelming response, thanks to everyone who offered even if you weren’t picked.
All in all I have to say I’m glad I did it and gained some valuable insight. There were some ideas that were floating around my head they the feedback helped solidify my decisions on. Secondly when every single person complained about the same thing, and it happened to be something I thought I was being clever about, I probably was just coming from a self centered affiliate point of view. Although making the change doesn’t keep people on my site, hopefully it enhances usability and makes me look like less of a prick.
So while it’s not something I’ll be doing on every project, it is something I will be trying again, and might be something you should consider as well. I probably won’t be link dropping it here, just because I have some special promotional plans for it, and don’t want to ruin them.
