Now that I’ve almost completely surrendered to web based Gmail I’ve adjusted my work habits to allow me to get the most out web based life (yes Matt Cutts you were right ), I’ve even gotten over my me, me, me instant gratification and am using Google Reader. However one thing I really miss is my LinkedIn toolbar for outlook.
I discovered the Linkedin Firefox Companion, which if it worked according to the way it was described here would be perfect. Sadly however nothing happens when I’m inside of Gmail. I tried turning off greasemonkey and the previews scripts thinking that might have caused a conflict, but still no LinkedIn. So maybe the folks at LinkedIn will catch this post. If not I’ve dispatched an email to tech support, but if one of you readers has found a solution please drop something in the comments below.

ok after some tech support from linkedin (thanks guys) we got it working. Not exactly sure why but I turned off all my plugins uninstalled it, rebooted, re-installed it and turned everything back on.

Hi,
Your solution did’t work for me but I found out that Linkedin Companion don’t work with Gmail if using https instead of http. I’m using Gmail Manager Extension for Firefox and there is option “Use secured connection when checking this account”.
