Looks like it got some serious bury action in there as well as pay-per-digg love.

The burying may have messed it up. Another important aspect of this issue is that the diggs must occur quickly, diggs accrued over a day or two won’t count as nicely as a burst in diggs. Why are you going for diggs by the way? Quick traffic or are you trying to gain reach quickly??

That’s also my original reaction. It certainly appears to be forcibly manipulated. The Digg algo will definitely penalize you for doing that.

Diggs from friends are not as valuable either, so if only people you know digg your stuff, chances are that your post won’t get promoted.
