So last week I was browsing through my delicious network and came across something interesting I thought I’d share.
I’ve mentioned why you should be looking at other people’s bookmarks before (see I’ve got a Link Blog, and Why You Should Care). So I have my “inbox” and “network” in my RSS reader so I can see when people bookmark interesting things. Last week Todd bookmarked Your Information Business Model (Part Two) | Tubetorial. Now despite having a very predictable web 2.0 design the content from the video was actually informative. I went to the homepage they looked a little new but I checked out a few of the other videos. I really liked Trademark Law and Your Blog Domain Name so I bookmarked that one as well.
That’s the way social bookmarking is supposed to work. No one had to send around these “hey check this out” emails or put up some regurged news. I saw it come in the title looked interesting and I checked it out.

Hey Michael, glad you liked the vids.
I agree with your take on bookmarks, an the key for all of us creating content is trying to earn one.
I’ve had that mindset since back in the days when we used javascript to pop open Explorer’s bookmark function so the visitor could add with one click, and it’s always served me well.
Thanks!
