The Top Earning Affiliate list has been discussed over at threadwatch. Nick closed the thread, with the reasoning that we had reached a conclusion and not much else of value was going to get accomplished. I agree and completely support his decision. I made my own post about it a few days ago (see top earning affiliate list). Jeff stopped by and made a comment, and since he feels I put words in his mouth I’ll reprint his comments in their entirety here:

Greetings. It’s interesting that I found your comments to be rather level headed at Threadwatch yet here on your own blog you seem to be completely off-base, putting words into my mouth. I have never said that I refuse to remove anyone from the list. What I said was what you quoted and is far from refusal.

Although you have a disclaimer on your post entry your motives seem clear - to distort reality and truth. This is your right and it carries with it the associated risks.
Jeff Molander

First of all Threadwatch is Nick’s place and he allows us a lot of leeway but did ask us be a little nicer so I did. This however is my sandbox so if I want to be a little more direct I have that freedom. That’s said, not to take a personal swipe at you, but I will be up front with you that I don’t think you’ve been especially forthright and truthful about a great many things. You seem very unwilling to provide short, clear and concise answers to very simple questions. In fact 90 comments later you’re still waffling on the issue of removing people. You still haven’t articulated how you gained access to “confidential” financial data, leaving us to wonder if you have an excellent memory, are clairvoyant, or acquired it through other “secret”, “unknown”, or “nefarious” means.

I also feel it’s worth quoting Scott Mcnulty the Afftrack CEO from who dropped by threadwatch:

I have asked Jeff previously to clarify where he got his data from and he has refused and instead decided to be coy about it. So, now I feel I must set the record straight on AffTrack’s involvement, or lack there of in this case.

Secondly regarding your thinly veiled threats that my actions carry “associated risks” … please … grow up and get over yourself, I’m not amused by these childish bully tactics that belong more in the schoolyard than the corporate world.

Now if you’d like to respond or clear up any of the great unaswered mysteries regarding this issue, please do so with my blessing. I’ll leave your comments as is and not edit them. I do however ask that we not rehash what’s already been said, or go off on another tangent, I don’t have the time for it.
