WOLF TRACKS IN SNOWLast night I went to my wife’s company Christmas Party. If you’ve ever had to go to one you know how dreadfully boring they can be for a spouse, but you know you have to do the right thing and go along. It was held in in a private room at the back of bar/club. Sometime near the end of the party I decided to go outside and get some fresh air (which was decidedly un-fresh thanks to all of the smokers, but we’ll save that for another time). The club was filled with mostly twenty -something or generation-Y people all dancing, talking and having a good time. On my way back into the party room a woman purposely danced herself strategically right in front of me, and then grabbed my arm. It wasn’t a menacing grab, or a psycho-stalker grab, but it was firm enough to get my attention, and gentle enough to let me know it was non-threatning. She then leaned in so I could hear her over the music and said “You’re new here, I’m Bonnie, would you like to go the bar and get a drink?”. After processing what had just occured, I smiled coyly back at her and said “thank you, but I’m taken”.

So, Bonnie while I doubt you’ll ever read this, but thanks for giving me something to laugh and smile about, thanks for making and otherwise boring night interesting, and most importantly thanks for giving me that ego boost we all need from time to time.
