The U.S. Senate on Sunday unanimously passed legislation aimed at prolonging the life of a brain-damaged woman, Terri Schiavo, in an extraordinary intervention by Congress to move the Florida case into the jurisdiction of federal courts.

President Bush cut short a Texas vacation and flew back to Washington to sign the bill as soon as it passes both houses of Congress.

The House of Representatives is expected to take up the same bill and pass it early Monday morning after a brief delay caused by objections by some Democrats who said it put Congress in the middle of a family dispute and undermined state rights.

Yahoo News

1. This is a disgusting display of the government’s power to use the press to garner attention for themselves, in a high profile volatile issue, that should remain a family’s private issue.

2. This is not about saving a life or lives, it’s about media attention, period. There are a lot of other issues and policy changes that could save a lot more lives.

3. Since you all of you dilligent government officials worked throughout the weekend and the president cut his vacation short to solve this problem, I’m sure you all will be able to solve other problems like just as expeditiously.

I can honestly say I would rather dive head first into pool of my own vomit than support any of you in any way, after this kind of action. Your vile and abhorrently self-serving actions leave me replete with an antipathy for the government I’ve not felt in many years.

And if you’re some intellectual troglodyte who makes some asinine counter-comment here, I will verbally bitch slap you, pummel you into the ground, and rip out your entrails and stuff them down that useless hole in your head you use as mouth.

Graywolf out!
