Sprint or There’s no Palm in Your Hand

One of the hottest trends in the telecommunications industry is a PDA integrated into your cellular phone. Throw in a full size keyboard, internet access, and color display and you get a geeks heart beating faster. Now tell them it runs on the Palm OS, and you’re approaching nirvana, or the Treo 650.
The current version, the Treo 600 is a extremely popular phone, selling over 660,000 units this year. That figure is even more impressive when you factor in that the unit price of $250 - $350. The latest upgrade, the Treo 650 comes out in November, just in time for Christmas, and will be priced under $500. Here’s where it gets dicey, if you want one you gotta get it from Sprint. Yup, Sprint cornered the market on them until sometime in 2005 (news story). My new cell phone (Nokia 9290) is on order and will be here sometime this week, but I gotta admit the Treo 660 is one sweet piece of hardware.

Awesome new phone gray. I’d like to know the difference between the Sprint Phone and the Nokia 3300 - any ideas?

Also, Sprint hobbles the device just to turn an extra buck.
