I went to the doctor today for a routine checkup. I was filling out my updated medical history form
allergies … no …
dizzy spells … no …
depression … no …
email address … ??? …
Ok here I was sharing my most personal physical conditions and
medical history without a care in the world, but when I come to email
address I Freeze like a dear in headlights. Now something you should
know I’m not an email Nazi by any stretch of the imagination. I have a
lot of email accounts, in fact I stopped counting after 30. I’m also not
some uber-sensitive ACLU zealot ready to launch a barrage of high power
attorney’s on you if you send me a mortgage application or advertisement
for small blue pills. My spam filter catches most of it, what it doesn’t
my delete button does. Should I get more spam than I’m comfortable
with I’ll drop the email faster than Hertz dropped OJ. So why was I
having a hard time with the email question? Maybe I didn’t like my
personal details associated with an email address. Maybe I don’t want
my doctor earning extra income selling mailing lists. Maybe it
was that tiny little luddite on my shoulder whispering DON’T DO IT. Whatever the reason I left it blank. So sorry Doc, no spam today!
