So now that’s springs in the air maybe you’ve decided to update you wardrobe with some new Prada shoes or maybe treat yourself to a new Prada handbag. Well don’t expect the search engines to point you in the direction of Prada.com or PradaParfums.com, because you won’t find anything there. See all the really interesting stuff is hidden behind a flash application … or is it?
For starters you can see about 40 pages are indexed for Prada.com (site:prada.com). If you look at one of the files like say http://parfums.prada.com/prada-perfume-fragrance.htm you may be a bit confused by the blank page you see. However view the CSS file and everything becomes clear. You’ll notice this little line right here:
.link-6 { font-size: 6px; color: #666666; display:none}
Ah it’s the old “display:none” trick in action. Now there are perfectly valid uses for this if say you wanted some text to appear for the spiders, and an image for the users I’d say that’s perfectly acceptable implementation. However displaying just a blank page … well c’mon lets fess up you were trying to pull a fast one. Start looking at the pages they are pointing at like http://parfums.prada.com/classic-perfume.htm and more of the same nonsense. I tried loading page in three different browsers and nothing happened. So is it a bad cloaking-like css-javascript combination that’s broken or are they really that clueless. I mean how embarrassing that Prada cant even rank for Prada shoes (serp) and Prada handbags (serp)? Secondly, how embarrassing is it for Google that they don’t think Prada is the best result for Prada shoes and Prada handbags

I’ll wait that moment when I will search on google for the keyword Google, and a porn website will appear.
