*** SPOILER WARNING IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN HARRY POTTER & THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN OR DON”T WANT TO LEARN PLOT DETAILS DON’T READ PAST THIS POINT ****
If you’ve gotten this far I’ll assume you’re a Harry Potter Fan and have seen the Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban and read at least some of the The Harry Potter book series. As you may know I’m a big fan of soundtracks and the Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban Soundtrack is no exception.
I’m a big fan of most of John Williams music, and this album is no exception. However one of the biggest surprises of this soundtrack is its departure from the previous soundtracks. It has a much darker tone and is far more original IMHO. For example the “Knight Bus”, now there is a track that goes perfectly with the movie. Another of my favorite tracks is “Double Trouble” again a completely different sound. With “Hagrid the Professor” the juxtaposition of Haggrid with period medieval instruments is comic genius.
