GoogleGuy Blogs
Posted on August 7th, 2004by Site Admin in SEO
It’s only natural that the folks out Google started a blog, heck they own the thing. However a recent contributor is the infamous GoogleGuy. Now for those of you not involved in Website Design, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), or WebMasterWorld you may not know who he is. If you want to know the history check out The history of GoogleGuy over at WMW. Here’s the cliff notes version:
GoogleGuy is an employee at Google who thought it would be a good idea to help out all the folks trying to build websites. Good idea. Now people started trying to interpret what he was saying and how it affected the ranking algorithm’s, kind of like reading tea leaves. His popularity grew and the whole SEO/SEM world hung on his every post, much the way the financial markets hang on the what Alan Greenspan says. In fact someone even started a website collecting all of GoogleGuy’s postings (GoogleGuySays), the whole thing got out of hand.
Now with Goggle’s impending IPO GoogleGuy has been quiet lately. So hey GoogleGuy, glad to know you’re still around, and you’re way cooler than Tim or MSNDude.
