Yesterday Google integrated satellite imagery into Google Maps. I say it’s a complete abuse of expensive technology and resources, in other words, IT’S A REALLY COOL TOY TO PLAY WITH!

So of course the first thing everybody is going to do look up their house, job, school, old girl/boyfriends house, and maybe follow their drive to work if they are really bored. Unless you’re a terrorist or large scale real estate developer, I don’t know who has much of a business need for this product or how to monetize it. I guess you could always sell a more detailed map. However if you’re looking for some free link love there is a lot of potential. You could put up links to a collection of industry or theme related places here are some examples:

Tourist Destinations

Sports Stadiums

And whatever you do, don’t try to hack the URL with latitude and longitude coordinates of someplace like AREA 51, because it doesn’t exist!
