If you remember back a few weeks when Google launched the Google Desktop Search (see Google Invades Personal Computers) I wasn’t a big fan of it for privacy/security reasons. Well it seems if you work in corporate/enterprise level and use a VPN you may well have a problem (news).
Actually I’m in agreement with the owner of webmasterworld.com owner Brett Tabke who had this to say ….
I do like the quality of results, but I do not like the way they look like regular results. It is clear that google is trying to have users confuse online vs offline results. google has drank the “web is platform” koolaid.

So I still like Google I really do, and when they make good changes like opening up allowing POP3 access to Gmail I applaud them for it (see Pop goes your Gmail). Google stick to what you’re good at search engines, and web services, put down the koolaid and stay off of people’s desktops.
