Google Allegra Update
Posted on February 7th, 2005by Site Admin in SEO
I’ve mentioned the Google Allegra update before and how it’s pretty much out of whack (post). I’ve been reading some other forums as well, but the most common complaint is, my site doesn’t come up when you search for my company name. They usually go on and complain about why hasn’t the media noticed it and reported on it. Here’s my question for you, what have you done to tell the conventional media about it? Have you written about it on your blog? Have you commented about it on some media blogs? Have you written to any internet related website editors or reporters that aren’t in SEO/SEM fields? Have you provided clear and easy to understand examples? Have you provided more than one example? Well…. have you….
Well what are you waiting for? If one person writes a newspaper about a problem it may not get noticed. If 50 people do it has a much better chance of being seen, and if 500 or 5000 people do, well you get where I’m going. You work on the internet, you know how to do something to get it noticed. Instead of sitting around and wallowing in self pity why not rise up and actually do something about your problem?
See Google’s a publicly traded company now, they have to answer to shareholders for their actions. Wall Street may not care that “Joe’s Fish Market” doesn’t rank for his company’s name, but they do care when a 20 or 30 or so respected media outlets start questioning whether Google’s results are relevant or not.
So how bad does it have to be before you get of your ass and do something about fixing your problem? Want someplace to start here you go:
