David Arkenstone African Skies

I first came across David Arkenstone with The Music Inspired by Middle Earth CD. This CD coincided with the Lord of the Rings Movies. While it lacks the bombastic quality that the soundtracks had it has some really great medieval period instruments. I was browsing through my local book/CD store and found African Skies at a listening station. It’s a very soothing relaxing album, you can hear lots of birds and bugs chirping and clicking, along with some percussion instruments. There are also some woodwind instruments to bring in feel of the wind. To complete the tribal sound there is also chanting. This music is just perfect for drowning at the background sounds. Turn down the lights and be bathed on the glow of the monitor … begin to code ….
