Now like everyone I like getting gifts for Christmas. It can be a nice 52 in wide screen plasma TV (puuuullleeeze I really have been a good boy don’t listen to a word Cal says), something simple like CD or book, even something homemade a jar a gravy that your Italian Grandmother made and canned in late August. But that’s not what the true meaning of Christmas is all about it’s all about giving.
Yes giving gifts to your family, friends or other loved ones is important. But Christmas is all about challenging yourself to be a better person, and rising up to meet the moment, even if only for one day. You know that nasty man in your apartment building, or maybe that bitter gossipy woman that you work with? Well those are the people you need to bring Christmas to. So put on your thinking caps and think of something you can give or make for them. Maybe some Christmas cookies, a cake, or freshly baked bread. If your culinary skills aren’t up to snuff, the bakery aisle of your local supermarket, Pillsbury isn’t all bad.
Remember rise up to the occasion, challenge yourself to be the better person, and practice and act of guerilla kindness if only for one day.
