According to some recent studies sea level is predicted to rise one meter by the year 2100 (news). Unless medical science makes some big strides, I’m not going to be around to see it, however I do live in a flood zone. I have Jones Beach about 3 blocks away to the south, and two different canals 2 block away on two sides, so I am slightly concerned. Now I’m not an atmospheric scientist but I have to admit this whole thing is kind of puzzling to me. There is all this talk about global warming, and maybe I’m just nostalgic, but the snow storms in winter here seem much less intense than when I was a kid, and I live about 25 miles from where I grew up. I also see all of the streams, rivers and lake beds that I pass semi-regularly have either dried up or are REALLY low. So I’m pretty much confused about the whole thing.

Well, guess I need to do some research for the link, but the average temperature has actually dropped over the last several years (can’t remember how many but it’s significant).

    I’ll get back to you.
