I run the SETI program on one my many computers. Do I believe there are extra terrestrials among us, like Elvis, or Clinton advisors, no. However I don’t think we are the only form of intelligent life in the universe. To presume that this entire planet and universe was created purely for us is rather presumptuous. So yes Virginia there are aliens.

The SETI program allows you to download SETI@Home program that runs on your home or work PC. When the computer is idle it downloads packets of information from the project analyzes them and then sends them back to SETI. This is one of many distributed computing projects available on the web today.
