I said in 2006 I wasn’t going to do this meme nonsense anymore and here we are three weeks into 2007 and I’m on my third one, oh the shame of it all …

So what is it that I find so interesting and attractive about these meme’s … it’s the links stupid! I’m deep in a book that Greg recommended to me about links and social networks, and I’m thinking about links in whole new way. I’ve always believed that Mike Grehan’s Filthy Linking Rich is one of the most essential documents of SEO, and watching links spread is becoming very exciting for me.

It’s fascinating to watch meme’s spread, watch the unsuspecting seemingly random ways things are connected in that six degrees of Kevin Bacon way. For example could you have predicted it would end up on the blog of a Senior Vice President of the MITA brain based center, I know I couldn’t. So here goes I’ll keep this moving.
