Do You Buy Cheap Cialis? How about Viagra? Do you have mesotheloma? Why do I ask let’s take a big step back, and look at the current news.
President Bush is currently involved in a wire tap scandal. Now I’m not going to enter into a political debate about the issues, but instead want to look more at the technical part of the issue. For example look at this quote from an article in arstechnica.com:
It is entirely possible that the NSA technology at issue here is some kind of high-volume, automated voice recognition and pattern matching system.
So speculation currently is that the US government has technology that allows them to sample huge amounts of voice data looking for specific keywords. Can you think of any other companies who can sample huge amounts of data about you … perhaps Google? Here’s the kicker they don’t even have to convert it, it comes in as a text stream. So the eggheads at Google, who are probably much smarter than the spooks in DC, have huge amounts of data about practically everyone. We also know they have some expertise in the data mining field. We also know one person has already been convicted with his search queries being used as evidence against him ( see John Battelle Blog).
So back to my original question, do you buy cialis? Or maybe more importantly does Google think you buy cialis? What could someone tell about you from looking at your clickstream? For many people I know they could reach the conclusion they are compulsive gamblers, with an asbestos related lung cancer, who spend a lot of time looking at pornography and have an erectile dysfunction problem. Something to think about.
