This limited right may be revoked at any time.

Hey Cingular I can link to you any way I want and with any words I want like T-Mobile, Alltell and Sprint go ahead try and come after me cause I’ll tell the world how cingular sucks. Oh and if you are a lawyer for Cingular I will reprint any corespondance or legal notices you send to me.

Linking policies are genearally moronic but in the right industry a no-linking policy can even become linkbait ;-)

and if you’re in the market try a AT&T goPhone or a go phone

I’m disappointed Michael. I stumble across this, make a blog post, send you a tip, link you to my blog post for the content, and you don’t even cite me as your source.

Michael Gray May 4, 2007 at 4:40 pm

@harry dude what are you smoking, I didn’t get this from you at all?

Harry Maugans May 4, 2007 at 7:46 pm

Michael,

I don’t want to come off wrong, there’s nothing wrong with you posting it at all. You didn’t get my email? Okay, that’s all right. Where did you find this though? There are 3-4 other sources on the internet talking about it right now (Consumerist, SEOMoz, DSL Reports, etc), and every one of them cite me, so did you just take the story and strip the source out?

I’ve been reading your blog daily for a long time, and I have a very high respect for you Michael, don’t get me wrong, and I’ll continue to read it despite this. Getting into a debate isn’t worth a link; maybe I was wrong to have mentioned it at all.

Best of luck,
- Harry

I came across it on digg

Harry Maugans May 4, 2007 at 10:11 pm

Ah, the Digg article linked to Techdirt, which sourced DSL Reports, which sourced me.

Oh well. Sorry about that.

Anti-linking policies have been around for years. I used to write about them, way back when. The site that used to track sites with no link or complicated link policies finally gave up, but the site remains intact.

Used to be a delightful read, guaranteed to make your blood boil!

Are you referring to that Boston hair doctor? She had a crazy linking policy, too… didn’t she? :P
