So over on the Mahalo Blog they give a nice example of how sites get included, who stays on the waiting list, and who gets banned.
The priceless part is the person who’s site they say doesn’t meet their editorial standards actually gets a free straight link! Jason c’mon you need to think these things through a little bit. You may not like us but I really think you need an SEO on the payroll to keep you from shooting yourself in the foot from time to time. It’s kind of like hiring ex-con’s or hackers as security consultants.

HAHA! Nice! I would have to agree with you there.
The spam seems to have started already.
Maybe we should think about submitting our websites there and hope for other “Case Studies” soon
It wouldn’t hurt a link from Mahalo
or maybe its a underhanded slight at google that the core of its linking algo can be so easily duped
I love the “it felt spammy” and “it had a very low Alexa ranking” . If they continue to factor in such complex variables, Google and all other search engines better start watching out
This just made my morning.
They failed on point no.1

the site was banned, but we’ll go ahead and link to it from the mahalo.com blog.
tards
dude that whole blog post reads like a Sesame Street episode. “This site was a-ok, this site has “no action,” and this site was banned. There it is folks”
tarded
And of course, me pet peeve. Poor blog URL construction. I guess if you don’t care about SEO it doesn’t matter.
Here is a sample URL form the blog:
http://blog.mahalo.com/?p=18
It should read something like:
http://blog.mahalo.com/2007/06/20/case-study-how-mahalo-handles-recommended-links/
I have some free time if Jason wants someone to fix this.
