Yea, Yea I know Google Borg - Google Calendar what am I thinking?
Since I jettisoned outlook and basecamp refuses to take suggestions that I or anyone else makes I didn’t really have a good calendar solution and definitely had a calendar problem. Don’t try and tell me about sunbird, it’s god awful and clunky to use, so when Google Calendar came out I tried it, liked it and it seems to be working pretty well for me. I’m absolutely not making anything public, and I’m writing anything even remotely sensitive in 1337 5p34k just a precaution. But hey Google you know what would be a nice feature addition, how about giving me the ability to copy a meeting. For example if I meet with someone today, and I need to meet with them again in 2 weeks how about letting me copy the meeting details instead of having to type it all over again?
Update:
Not sure if I was spaz and it was there all along or if they just added it, but Carl from Google came by and gives you instruction below on how to accomplish it. I have to say once you actually talk to the folks at Google, they are all very nice, helpful, and genuinely interested in doing the right thing.

That is a good suggestion, but as we know Google is really slow. It will take them forever because they would want to test the features in-house before making them public. Just like what they do with Gmail.

If you open the event details page, you can select “Duplicate event” under the “More actions….” drop down.
We do listen.

I’ll make sure the suggestion gets pass on though.

I loaded this page in a new tab and was reading it later, so I totally missed that Carl S himself stopped by. I didn’t even have time to mention it to anyone at Google. Go Carl! Let’s hear it for more folks at Google checking blogs.

Suggestion.. What about having somthing like a ToDo list, or lil sticky notes in google calendar? Stuff that needs to get done, but not necessarily during a specific time.

I actually have 2 suggestions.
1) They should include an option for that will just include all the major holidays. I know that I can write them in, but I think it would be a nice options that would probably be easy to add
2) I know that the idea is for everyone to get on board with the calendar, but since some people (aka my parents) can only handle so much technology, it would be nice to have an e-mail feature beside the print feature. I’m just thinking it would allow you to e-mail your schedule for the day/week/month or your agenda to someone like my parents.

Another feature I’d love to see implemented is the ability to configure notifications (popup, email, sms etc) on a per calendar basis.
So for one calendar, say university classes I don’t want any notification, then for another, say Events, I want SMS reminders and another, say Birthdays I want an email reminder four days in advance.
I definitely second the general to do list suggestion.

Axiomata… well that can be done, just create a different calendar for different things. My School calendar doesn’t send reminers or throw up pop ups, but my personal calendar does. And the reminder warnings can be changed (up to a week in advance).
I also agree with the To-Do list, I’m tired of the notepad file hovering on my desktop.
Another feature I would like to see is an alarm clock, something to wake me up, may not be useful for the masses but for geeks who sleep with their PCs on I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt. Then I could program my wake ups very easily.

One feature suggestion:
Ability to configure daily agenda and notification times. Getting a page at 5:00 AM when I’m trying to sleep until 6:00 AM totally sucks.

It would be nice to be able to disable showing the time-of-day for events in the week view. With long event names it would help make more information available.
