So when I was at the Google Dance a few weeks ago I met and talked with some of the engineers. I spoke at length with one of the engineers for Google documents about feature developments/requests yada-yada-yada, and he was nice enough to give me his card. I was working with Google docs again tonight, had an issue and dropped him an email about it, and 5 minutes later he emailed me back with an answer. So at 1:24 AM in the morning over labor day weekend, I got a personal response to my question, on the spot! Man that’s totally freakin’ amazing, he should absolutely get a gold star or whatever they give at Google for that!

Google did something right? Could just be a fluke :)

Damn your right, even on labour day… Some employees are really dedicated and honest. They should receive indeed a golden star!

I’ve had simialrly quick replies from some Microsoft employees after reporting issues. Big companies aren’t as “big” as they used to be anymore :-)

Don’t minimize the potential impact the Blackberry can have on how we perceive responsiveness. Perhaps the Google engineer was hacking code in his office at 1:00AM or maybe he was slacking at a local bar when he responded.

    Yeah, it is nice.

I too will often respond to e-mails over the weekend and yes, probably tomorrow too.

Laptops are great, that’s all I have to say :)

I believe they hand out a Google Lava Lamp for that.
