I think Reader will show an article again if the source changes the url for an article/post/story. I’ll ask the Reader guys though.

Until a couple of days ago I had lots of articles that always stayed unread. I mean, I read them but when i logged in again they popped up unread. But that seems to be fixed.

I experienced the problems you describe a couple of days ago. But just two times. Haven’t had problems ever since.

I on occasion get a duplicate, but it’s rare…. maybe once every week or two.

    Good luck Michael.

Often duplicates.. really annoying. Would be nice if they solved it.

I get dupes when I subscribe to the same site twice using different feed urls. For example, Threadwatch changed their feed url, and I subscribed twice so it sends me double headlines.

Based on our investigations, it looks like Yahoo occasionally includes the same item twice in their news feeds. However, the two copies have slightly different bodies and different URLs, so there’s not a lot we can do. We’ll see if there’s any way of getting them to fix the situation on their end, that would benefit users of all aggregators, not just Reader.
