I’m not sure if it’s some synergy between google reader and feedburner but damn google reader is picking up new posts in like 10 minutes, that totally rocks! I still get the dupe thing occasionally, but latency was one of my primary concerns when I switched, and now it’s a total non issue.

Yup yup. Google OS wrote about Reader picking things up faster a couple days ago: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2007/11/google-reader-to-update-feeds-faster.html
    Pretty cool.

If you want to do a blog post about dupes you see, I’m sure the Reader team would be interested. I know that when they’ve checked it out in the past, it’s often been an issue with the feeds on the source site, but I’m sure they’d be happy to see examples of dupes.

Thought I was just going crazy or getting lucky, glad someone else is seeing quick pickup in GReader.

Yeah, I couldn’t believe how fast it picks up our posts. Also couldn’t believe I waited this long to use it!

Indeed - I have a site that isn’t blog based, but fresh pages go in a ‘recent’ rss feed. A couple of months ago I had a SERP visit *10 minutes* after I published the page. I was totally blown away - how could they index that fast? Unbelievable!

I have noticed the same thing. I have a non-blog site where updated or new pages are placed into my RSS feed. G is usually there saying ‘hello’ within the hour. Nice!

I wasn’t sure whether it was just me getting my PageRank (assuming there’s any relation) back after swapping to the new web address.

But I went from a metronomic 7 day indexing cycle to every 2 days.

So would I be right in assuming that’s something to do with Google Reader?
