OK Google calendar “talks” to GMail, but why don’t any of them talk to google notebooks? Why don’t any of them talk to Google-Writely? Why don’t any of them talk to Google Spreadsheets? Why don’t any of these products which are not designed to compete with Microsoft office (yeah … right) talk to each other?
Isn’t it time for the Google control panel or Google dashboard already?

Sounds almost portal like and we all know they could never be accused of being a portal now… no that wont do

Ah, integration.
It’s tough, but it’s coming along.
Gmail interprets possible appointments in your emails and lets you add them to your calendar with just a click or two.
Google.com (optionally) shows search results from your Google Desktop.
There’s increasing integration amongst Google Earth, Google Maps, and Sketch Up.
Believe me, the teams here are excited about increasing integration but when you’re working with so much data, so many users, so many cool new offerings… it takes time.

D’oh, and I just realize that I repeated your mention of Gmail/Calendar. Oops. Reminder to self: don’t post prior to my afternoon coffee.
My main point still stands, though. Integration will happen. Most of us use our own dogfood, and we’re eager to see things mesh together better as well!
