So I’ve been living in a brand new Gmail account for almost a month now, and I’ve grown used to it but I, see a problem on the horizon I’m going to run out of space.
In one month I’ve used up 5% of my total storeage space

If my email habits stay the same sometime around September 2008 I’ll run out of space. So here’s a question for those of you who have been using Gmail for a longer eriod of time, how do you decide what to keep and what to delete, and what are some long term solutions to make sure you don’t run out of space in Gmail?

I forward my email from ne@mysite.com to gmail and then keep a copy on outlook on my office machine. I make sure the mail sits on the server for 30 days in case theres a problem.
in time ill purge the gmail of attachments and old stuff knowing its backed up
I download all my email to Outlook Express… I’m at 20%, and I’ve been using it since it was released (got a fairly early invite). I initially though I would run out of space like you early on, but found that I’m just not getting there. I delete things like notifications and whatnot (forums, blogs, etc)… but keep everything else.
What Google really needs is a quick and easy way to strip attachments. I’m just out of space and not looking forward to going through and pruning each one individually…
Why not just create another email account if you need more space.
I don’t get it. How can you ran out of 2GB that gmail gives. If not gmail, we would still be having those hotmail 2mb emails.lol 2gb is WAY too much. use “delete all” function to get rid of all spam
Here are my current stats
You are currently using 2347 MB (80%) of your 2902 MB.
This is my main account. I funnel everything into it from 5-6 other email accounts. Hopefully Gmail keeps growing.
