Domain Diversity in Google SERP’s For Breaking News
Posted on September 26th, 2008by Michael Gray in Google
One of my favorite things about Google is how the show a wide variety of domains for search results, especially for breaking news terms like [Washington Mutual]. It’s not like the top 20 results have 6 listings from Washington Mutual (shown in red) or 4 from the New York Times (shown in blue). Nothing like actually having to look at 20 results to actually have to get 10 answers when you want a good user experience …

url diversity is a big problem. having to go through 20-30 results to see a couple of different sites is silly. Google has a problem there.
is that web search or news search you used? News search shows a bunch of different results, and I would hope those seeking real time WaMu or othre breaking news use News searches specifically.
thanks for sharing.
